  1. My favorite sugar cookie recipe is a Martha Stewart one. She used brandy? I think, in it. I used amaretto instead for an almond flavor. They are wonderful and hold up to icing really well. Thanks for having us over! Happy Fall!

  5. LOVE sugar cookies! I use a recipe that a friend shared years ago. I was tempted to buy more cookie cutters this afternoon...I have to say it hurt to walk away. :-) I collect them and sometimes I just have to avoid repeating.

    Thanks so much for hosting!

  7. Hi Michael Lee! You are one busy gal! If I made cookies and had a deadline I'd probably eat them all! I love sugar cookies. I have a recipe from a 1985 magazine article. I use it when I bake sugar cookies.

I am planning a Christmas cookie exchange this year... maybe I will get out the recipe and make it. Delicious!
Love your pictures. YOu certainly have a way with styling!
    Thanks for hosting!

  10. Your photos are cute but I'm not a fan of sugar cookies :-( I do want to learn how to make shortbread cookies one of these days though.

Thank you for hosting! I'm linking up a turnip & turnip greens soup recipe. Not super fascinating compared to sugar cookies, but tasty nonetheless.

  11. You know, the last time I made cookies was for Halloween last year. I love them, but too much. If I make them I'll eat them all since Dr Lostpast doesn't like sweets. I used to like decorating them as much as eating them!

  12. Hi MLee!

Very pretty Fall items for cookies! My very most favorite recipe has to be my Mom's. After she died, I found a hand-written (in pencil, no less) recipe. I need to get busy & frame that for my DGD to have someday.

Thanks for hosting FF again this week. Don't push yourself too hard, k?

    fondly,

  15. I bring out my favorite sugar cookie recipe just before Christmas, and tuck it away again where I won't see it for the next 11 months.

That's how much I like sugar cookies, and how bad they are for me!

The recipe is from a 1982 Woman's Day Holiday Baking specialty magazine -- each year I panic that I have lost the mag, and it never occurs to me to COPY the best recipes out of it!

    I'm a slow learner.
    All the best -- Cass
