Welcome to the August 12th Foodie Friday. This week, I've been eating whatever Dr. Big brings home. Little Debbie Snack Cakes, pizza, chicken nuggets, McDonald's salad. No time to diet or to be picky when I'm facing two, that's right, two deadlines.
I long for the perfect summer lunch. No deadlines. No 18 hour workdays. No pressure.
So I came up with three fantasy meals.
Which one would you pick?
#1 Lunch on a Greek Island
#2 Lunch by the Pool
#3 Lunch in the Country
Which lunch would you choose? 1, 2, or 3? Why? How do you relax when work is pressing in around you, the phone is ringing, and the people around you are getting flustered?
Would a calming lunch help? If so, I would love ideas. :-)
I haven't forgotten about the lemon purse and beach bag giveaways.
You can see pictures of the giveaways here http://teenytempleton.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-teeny-templeton-learned-to-cook.html
and
A winner will be selected August 24th.

I'd have to choose #1, the idea of eating lunch and hearing the water around you would be so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteAll 3 lunches look wonderful! Because i have always dreamed of visiting Greece, I will choose #1. Today is my first day back from vacation so, it is going to be a hectic day or I should days. So, I have no suggestions regarding relaxing during a chaotic time :(
ReplyDeleteI can relax with any of those 3 lunches pictured, but especially the Greek Islands, wow, that would be a dream come true for me. As far as lunching when under pressure, why, liquid of course!! By that I mean protein shakes, high-energy-inducing fruit smoothies, lots of coffee. :) xo
ReplyDeleteI could really enjoy lunch by the pool, because it would be great to have a pool right now.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for having us!
Sherry
They all look lovely and delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI like my lunch by a Greek island, please! It looks so soothing and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI would like to try lunch #1 on the Greek Island.....WOW, would that be fun or what!!! Being by the water just does something to me....very relaxing! Just that smell of water.........and the sounds the water makes. At home when I want to relax I will take a glass of wine and sit on the deck and listen to the birds and watch them land in the birdbath. That spells relaxing to me:)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking by the pool because of these HOT days we've been having. Would love to have a day relaxing by and in the pool. As far as when things are crazy around you... I'm thinking my favorite comfort food would definitely help, maybe a lunch date out with someone special at my favorite restaurant to get a break from it all, or maybe even just a working lunch with my favorite Chargrilled Chicken Pesto sandwich and a salad at The Atlanta Bread Company for a change in scenery!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to pick the pool Michael, of course I'd imagine the Pool Boy to fan me comes with it:@)
ReplyDeleteLunch by the water is always a bonus, Greek Island #1, then the pool~ Good luck with your deadlines :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's been a dream of mine to visit the Greek Islands...so that's my choice :)
ReplyDelete#3 for me!
ReplyDeleteRight now, I would choose #2, lunch by a pool! Would LOVE to have a pool! In a few weeks I would choose #3, in the country in the crisp Fall air!!!!!!!!!! Right now I am living on tomato sandwiches!!!!!!!!!! On Pepperidge Farm bread! LOVE......... Hope you get some relief from the PRESSURE soon!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteHands down- Greece... for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Actually, they don't even need to feed me! Can I just go?
ReplyDeleteAll of the luncheons looked delightful... beautiful scenes:)
Oooh, lunch in the country please - although they all look wonderful! Hope your work goes well and you meet those deadlines - and thank you so much for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI would say Greece, but the economy is so bad there.....so i will say lunch by the pool!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I could pick a favorite of your luncheon spots. They are all equally beautiful and serene. Thank you for hosting darling. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteIt's funny Michael, my post has an unusual McDonald's in it! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved all your luncheon spots! I think Greece sounds really nice.
For me, I would have to say #2...Lunch by the Pool. As we munch and savor the edible delights I could dip my feet into the cool water and afterwards take a swim. Now that sounds very relaxing to me right now. Thanks for the opportunity to escape for a moment!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Lilly
I'll take my lunch on the Greek Island, please. I'd like the Beef Gyros and a whole plate of Baklava!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI would find lunch in the country the most relaxing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I need to relax and change the mood of the household, I put on music and invite everyone to dance.
Yum, beautiful food and great settings.

I'd probably choose lunch on a Greek Island. :) It would be a change in pace. Variety is the spice of life, right?
ReplyDeleteGosh, I really can't decide between the island and the pool. I guess the island - because I want to visit Greece anyway! ;)
ReplyDelete2 deadlines... arghhhh!!! I think the island for me! Good luck with your work... I know you will do it.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a toss up between #1 and #3. Gorgeous photos as always! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteHands down - number 3.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! And definitely number 1. I live in the country and eat lunch here daily. hehe
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry to hear you're under such pressure right now Michael -- yet you manage to host us cheerfully and faithfully. Bless your heart. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteHmm, all three lunch scenarios look wonderful . . . but since I live in the country, I'll choose #1 !
Have a good weekend, and I hope you have a chance to relax a bit. xo ~m.

I'll take the Greek Island for sure. I've never been to Greece, but have always wanted to go. I can replicate my own lakeside or country lunch around here, but Greece is something I can't do.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a lunch NOT by my computer keyboard! (sad, i know...i can commiserate with your double deadline) But seriously, your opening pic in all that perky, fresh green made my day!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have lunch at the pool. Nice setting.
