I haven't been posting much lately because I'm writing. Mostly, though, I'm eating stuff like this. And my mother wonders why all of us have gained a bit of weight.

I just love Dairy Queen cuisine, even though it's a heart attack in a box.
But that didn't stop us from consuming every last crumb.
Be sure to check out the new Le Creuset give-way over at Facebook. (See the sidebar.)You can enter the contest here, too, by using the word "cherry" in your comment. (The skillet is red).Deadline: August 1st.

Dang girl, you can even make fast food look mouth-watering! I have some brownies in the kitchen, want me to send some over? I know you love chocolate, especially when your writing!
ReplyDeleteHope your son is still doing good, checked on FB, but the only update I saw was that he was doing better and I hope that is still the case.
Hugs
Only you could take such beautiful photographs of DQ cuisine, lol!! We are writing and recording and not posting much either, but I always enjoy whatever you post:-) All the best!
ReplyDeleteYeah, heart attack in a box, but your amazing photography makes it look all the more yummy! It's a good thing there isn't a Dairy Queen here, or I'd be in trouble.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Foodie Friday.
I would love the cherry pan...Stanna

Thanks so much for hosting! Yum! DQ! Sometimes when it's really hot, we just have a Banana Split for dinner..I know, really bad.
ReplyDelete~Liz
First of all - Hope Bandwith & Trey are doing well. I also have a good dose of "fast food" myself on occasion. I think we all do sometimes, then we tighten our belt and behave for a while. :-D
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I love your honesty :) Hope life gets back to normal for you soon!
ReplyDeleteHEY...I thought Dairy Queen was ONLY in TEXAS.!!
ReplyDeleteThe thing I love best at Dairy Queen is...a CHERRY coke !! :)
Love Dairy Queen. I am all about the blizzards. Pecan Pie is the flavor of the month :)
ReplyDeleteIt's cherry season here! Thanks for entering me!
DQ is okay once in a while. What the H _ _ _, we need to indulge once in a while or life would be boring IMO.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn/A Southerners Notebook
Oh, I get it! Totally get it! We have weeks like that too! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm.....that looks good! My DQ favorite DQ item is the Peanut Buster Parfait...and it's been YEARS since I had one. I just may need to head down the road for tomorrow's lunch...
ReplyDeleteJane (Artfully Graced)
I hope you don't have gallbladder probs, ML, cause that stuff will give you an attack, after the heart attack of course. :)
ReplyDeleteI have only had ice cream at DQ, long time ago. None around here, just Carvel. Do you have those?
Yummmmmmmy loveDQ love to have a CHERRY SHAKE!!!!
ReplyDeletePAT H
At least you have a really good excuse! I haven't been cooking 'cause it's just too hot!
ReplyDeleteI got my skillet and I can't even express how fantastic it is!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!
I haven't had Dairy Queen in a while. I usually get their chicken snack and either a milkshake or an ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. But I have say, those chili dogs look really good!
ReplyDeleteLove Dairy Queen and a chili dog is tops on my list! Blizzard to follow. Or maybe a dip cone if I'm feeling stuffed... In the town where I grew up (Alexandria, La) we had an older Dairy Queen that had a little "dairy queen" with yellow pigtails on the roof. I belief due to a fire the renovated and the poor little maid was no longer.
ReplyDeleteI love this food too! lol Oh, the tater tots, and chili dog! I could go for one now! lol
ReplyDeleteEven those Chili Dogs look beautiful. Thanks for hosting as usual, hope all is well with you.
ReplyDeletemickey
I love Dairy Queen! We all need to spurge sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fun! Talk about keeping your blog real! Hope the writing is going well. laurie
ReplyDeleteOhmigosh! That is so hear attack prone! But I know how it is when you want satisfaction!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Dairy Queen! I haven't had their food in ages, but it really is yummy. I especially like their soft ice cream cones, covered in chocolate dip!
ReplyDeleteI am so craving a dilly bar now!
ReplyDeleteCherry pie is my favorite summer dessert.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the carnival.
With three kids all actively involved in school I completely understand the periods of fast food.... We hit Sonic up quite a bit because the hubs loves a chili, cheese coney and a cherry coke; cherries on the side. Go figure. Thanks for hosting foodie friday!
ReplyDeleteI love a foot long Coney Dog with chili, mustard, and onions! I haven't had one in soooo long! Thanks for reminding me. Also, sorry about the "recycled flower pots" name on my link today...It should say "How to Make Perfect Pickles"...I am having a technically challenging day today!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures of DQ food are so great it makes it look gourmet! I would love to win that skillet! That would be the cherry on top for sure!! What a generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWell, it sure photographs well! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI had the BESTEST frozen ice cream/brownie/cheesecake from Dairy Queen the other night at a Bible Study meeting. Oh my, it was worth every calorie.
Donna
lol love the take out boxes interspersed with the nice decor ;-) ... a cherry or three in a nice bowl would look pretty on that table!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes! DQ indulgence! I remember the days of CHERRY cokes, & vanilla cokes. We tried to fix them at home, but they never tasted quite as good.
ReplyDeleteSusan
We have to indulge the taste buds for creativity!! It helps us think better right??? You could also use a hot fudge sundae with a CHERRY on top!!
ReplyDeleteTater tots rock!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, it's really bad but I love it. A Dairy Queen is close by (too convenient) and I sometimes crave their tots and popcorn shrimp. There - I said it. Butterscotch Dilly Bars - the best!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Loved this, and I wish I had some RIGHT NOW!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Yikes! That does look like a heart attack in a box.
ReplyDeleteGreat postings this week! Love this little yummy party! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThank GOD I just got home from a picnic, am FULL to the brim or I would want to run to DQ!!!!!!!!!!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteDairy Queen should be paying you for this! Their ads never make the food look that good! That veen loks good to me--and I don't like most fast food, nor do I like chili!
ReplyDeleteHi Michael~ We've been dining on quick and easy, too. These HOT summer days diminish my usual desire to spend time in the kitchen, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid weekend my friend!
xoxo
You make even the most greasy vein cloggin' food look delish. You MUST be a professional photographer too! All the local DQs closed around us...*sniff sniff*. I love me some Reese Cup Blizzard!! Thanks for sharing! Try not to get writer's cramp!
ReplyDeleteDQ is one of the few places we have to eat in my small town, so I'm with you all the way on their food! Love the M&M blizzard! Talk about calories!!
ReplyDeleteYum! And just why is everything that tastes good bad for you?
ReplyDeletePat
www.critteralley.blogspot.com
I say, bring on the Peanut Buster Parfait as an OCCASSIONAL "the devil made me do it culinary delicacy' isn't really all that bad for the arteries, waistline and ... soul. :)
ReplyDelete-Brenda-
Yes, we love our little DQ too.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to the nursing home and see all the oler people past 90 makes you want to eat all the heart attack in the box because I don't want to go that way either. At least I would be fat and happy!

MLW, you are the only one I know who can make Dairy Queen food fabulous. Now I want a chili dog! LOL
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with your family. Keep up the writing, amazing lady! ~ Sarah
I just want to bite the head off those birds. They look delicious.
ReplyDeleteIf I open a restaurant, I'm naming it "Heart Attack in a Box". !!
ReplyDeleteThat is...if you let me! LOL
