I'm happy to participate in Outdoor Wednesday this week. Check out Susan's blog, (http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com), A Southern Daydreamer) for a list of bloggers who are sharing their wonderful outdoors.
Since I live on a hilltop that overlooks a pond, not an ocean, I decided to create my own beach with an all white theme.
White tablecloth + shells = beach
You have to really use your imagination here. :-)
(P.S. We lost internet service today for a while--an electrical surge zapped our router--so if I go missing, it means the temporary router failed. The new part should be here Thursday.)

No matter what the theme... a table for two is always romantic...
ReplyDeletehave a beautiful time out on the side porch... Dixie
Looks like the beach to me! I can dream also. Sally
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a magazine layout! Beautiful and beachy! Luanne
ReplyDeleteGollum, that is a lovely beach table, and your view! It's magnificent. With a view like that you can dream the beach is there, and that beautiful French door and handsome ballustrade could easlily be a door and masonry ballustrade on the terrace of Viscaya, overlooking Biscayne Bay.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my own little private mental beach this week, and I'm well into the book and LOVING IT! Oh, it is SO good. More later, but I'm going to request some of the others (in hardback) for my birthday this summer from Mr. Magpie. They are perfect to read any season!
Here's hoping your router is working again soon. I had started a post for Friday, but I have to drive to Cecelia's dance recital. So I will have to catch up with y'all on another Friday.
Happy Outdoor Wednesday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Crisp and clean, very nice! CHEERS! Michele
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday Gollum! I just told my husband I was going to your place for vacation! I am easy to entertain.. I would have fun riding the tractor! Plus, maybe I would get a peek at the new book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your photos.~ Susan
Yikes your deck area and the view beyond makes me think of an English estate!! What a gorgeous setting you have...
ReplyDeleteIn MY mind's eye, this is as pretty a beach as I've ever seen!!

ReplyDeleteI love your little slice of beach right there on the porch! As always, simply beautiful tablescape and pics!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this scene. I will be at the beach in two weeks. So I'll dream here with you at your table setting for now. Love all the white. And the coral flatware is to die for. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful Gollum! Even the plates have a pretty scallop like shells do.
ReplyDeleteI wish so much the new book was out so I could take it on vacation with me! Now, this is the MOST beautiful, calming "beach" table I have ever seen! SOOOO classy! I love the ABSENCE of color!!! You did it right, GF! As you always do!! I am always in awe of you.................... Hugs, xoxox, Pinky

ReplyDeleteLove the new look of your blog as well.
Happy OW!
So beautiful! I love the picture of the shells on the white tablecloth! Such pretty land! God Bless! Lauralu :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures your table is set so pretty and what a view. Happy ODW
ReplyDeleteLove it...looks very beachy to me..If you need shells, I get them for free...give a holler..not tropical, just Long Island!
ReplyDeleteLovely beach party and place setting. I love living near the beach, but being in the flat lands, I wouldn't mind seeing a hill now and then!
ReplyDeleteamy@maisonbelle
I love your new 'summery' look! You have a lovely patio - with beach or without ;)
ReplyDeleteYour beach tablescape is beautiful and your mountain view lovely, relaxing and so perfect! The all white is very elegant and romantic.:-)
ReplyDeleteI just read 'Mermaids in the Basement' last month and enjoyed it very much. While in VA I even had my Mr. B drive me to the Outer Banks of NC to see Nags Head, two weeks ago! The Ocean was not happy on that day and it was quite cold. We ate a t a place called, 'Awful Arthurs'!
But I could picture the house and the beach just the way your wrote about it. I truly enjoyed the read and your talent very much.
I do hope your burns have healed!
Beth~♥
would so love to share a cup of coffee on that beautiful porch with you!
ReplyDelete* Oh Michael, THAT is a TWENTY STAR TABLECLOTH!!! It's absolutely STUNNING!!! I can't keep my eyes off of it, as WELL as how totally beautiful EVERYTHING looks~~~ yes, definitely "mazagine worthy"!
ReplyDeleteThe surroundings that bless you all are so worthy of any and all praise they may render! "W*O*W"!!!!!!
Love,
Linda
Hi Gollum
ReplyDeleteLoved the table and I am almost certain I heard the ocean while sitting at your lovely table. Actually who needs the ocean, you have plenty of beauty in your very own backyard. Happy Outdoor Wednesday.
~Maryrose~
Absolutely charming! Happy Outdoor Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBarb
This is just lovely. So simple in color but rustic and elegant all rolled into one. This might be one of my fave tablescapes you have done. Thx for putting this together for us. It was just for us wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteLOL
Hugs, Barb
With a view like that, who needs the ocean, but I do think you brought it to your table. Lovely. laurie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beach table Gollum, love all the white. Happy Wednesday, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful view that doesn't need a beach at all!! Yet, your pretty table fits in.
ReplyDeleteWonderful OW post! :-)
Jane
A lovely beach table -- and who cares if you're overlooking a pond instead of the ocean -- it's still water!
ReplyDeleteWe on the prairie think of water as ponds or lakes --
Oh, Gollum, it takes no imagination whatsoever to feel this beach vibe. Fresh, crisp, sandy, perfectly lovely. Who needs the ocean? This alternative works!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so pretty, and those white chocolate starfish must be so yummy*! _Ashley ~
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea. I'm not far from the beach but sometimes getting there is more stressful than I can handle so I do the same...set up outside and white with sea shells is a great idea. Love the blog design.
ReplyDeleteI want a big lots.
ReplyDeleteYour tablescapes are stunning.
What can I say.... just beautiful!! You are a very talanted lady & I wish you were my neighbor, lol.
ReplyDeleteJennifer
No need to pretend; it's perfect! White is always a staple color on any beach or water side locations. Its crisp and fresh, like any good watering hole... ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pics!
Happy OW!
This is BEAUTIFUL!! :-) L~
ReplyDeleteReally lovely and your tablecloth looked like the sand.
ReplyDeleteThe Raggedy Girl
I can feel the inviting sea breeze from here. What a lovely spot to enjoy a gracious meal for two.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I love the porch and it's view, and your table for two is so pretty. Don't remember if I told you - I went to Le Fleur few weeks. That place could do some serious damage to my bank account.:-)
ReplyDeleteGlenda
Absolutely breathtaking!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have created a lovely sanctuary for your family. It is a lovely space and I for one could hear the woosh of lapping waves. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteYes, a very pretty table and the shells look so creamy but I'm just hooked on your view...loverly!
ReplyDeleteVery fun tablescape you have made.
ReplyDeleteMakes one want to "do lunch".
Have a fab Wednesday!
You always set a lovely table. I like that banner too! Very fresh and clean and appealing. Hope you're having a wonderful day in your tranquil yard on this Outdoor Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
You have quite the elegant blog going on here! This is my first visit and for sure I'll return.
ReplyDeleteYour outdoor table for two looks SO inviting! The white tablecloth flows so beautifully, and the beach accents add so nicely to the ambience, It would be a great spot to linger for hours enjoying that lovely view!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice job!
Thanks for sharing it!
Sherri:)
Dreamy, Ms. Gollum --simply dreamy.
ReplyDeleteI'd beach farm anytime!
xo isa
Oh so pretty! I would love to have a porch -- maybe someday *sigh* and what a spectacular view!
ReplyDeleteI only live 25 minutes from the beach and I pronounce this absolutely perfect in every way! I can picture this very setting on a balcony overlooking the ocean. With your view you have the best of two worlds!
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday!
Robin@Miscellaneous Thoughts
I don't know if it's the sunshine, which is always a distraction to us Northwesters. It's so fleeting.
ReplyDeleteI am having so much trouble concentrating on blogging(sunshine and menopause a dangerous mix). I barely made the DB "rose is a rose" event. Hopefully I can focus on this weeks.
I could have sworn I saw seagulls fly over your gorgeous seascape. I have to say... I adored the white chocolate starfish with brown sugar. They were the piece de resistance.
Love the new look too!
Sweet wishes,
Sara
How beautiful, artisitc and inspirational ... just a huge feast for the eyes! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have a good imagination and it surely looks like the beach to me. Beautiful tablescape and I love the starfish pastries!...Christine
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! The twig flatware is a favorite of mine. Looks just amazing.
ReplyDeleteRobin
