Today's DVD Extra: Oops, I Did It Again (I moved the tree)

"I think that I shall never see
a tree as big as this here tree;
a ficus so tall
it hits the wall,
and throws leaves
at me
the fool who moved it."

With humble apologies to the poet, Joyce Kilmer, author of "Trees."

  3. You know - I don't mind it there. Something about those soaring ceilings keeps it in good proportion to the room, nice move. Ooo, and thank you for the second shot of the living room. What a gorgeous room it is ... I'm still coveting you know what. ArtieBen

  4. Gollum,

Your going to have a good laugh about this one. I was on here earlier, and somehow hit a key that enlarged that picture up the top, over to the right of the screen, of your doggie, now it fills my whole screen and I can't get it off. :O

I have no idea how I did it.

    Later.....

  8. Dear Gollum ... you have found the perfect place for the tree! Now, don't forget to rotate it from time to time (for even growth patterns.) Good job!

  9. Oh, this is so much better! The tree just overwhelmed your hearth room. It looks like it was meant to be here. (Now can we see the rest of your living room?)

You're just too funny! Thanks for the giggles!

  10. LOL, you are tiring me out Gollum. I'm guessing he/she will be much happier here. (By any stretch of the imagination I am NOT a gardner, but in this room it will have space to soar.)
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND and hopefully you will RELAX.

*** GG n' gf~ Just got back from actually going to the ~~~ aaacckk (!)~~~~ MARKET!!! (Ewwwww!). BUT, I D-I-D have fun spending about 45 minutes looking at/buying allll kinds of fun cards... You know, the kind that make other shoppers either act like they don't SEE you standing there chuckling, or others (like me!) who just come up n' ask to see it so THEY can laugh too! ~ Yep, LAUGHTER is one of MY weaknesse, for sure! (And it beats having ulcers and/or getting the "C" word, too, so the Drs. say!) *** I feel veRRRy PROUD about "helpin' the pro", girlfriend, re putting the tree in there!!! Gee, feel REAL good & it LOOKS even better than I thought! Now THAT'S better scaling ~~~ Now to find a huge, fab pot for it... *** OK NOW, slow down, girls...... waaaay down on the coffee & KKs ~~~ or did you girls switch to a nice Chardonnay at LUNCH??? I'm having fun today like I'm there WITH YOU, so, THANKS, Merci and Danke!!! XOXO Linda

  13. The tree is going to love it in here! I was thinking that what if in your hearth room you put a dark throw over the big chair on the right side where you're needing some visual weight? I know you have one on the back of the sofa on the left side, but I think you might could use one over there too. Also, you can't really see the right side of the room in your pics so we can't really see what you're seeing. I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only person that goes insane moving things around like this. I loved your matchy matchy arrangement UNTIL I saw where it wasn't so matchy matchy.

  21. Oh yes! This is the perfect spot. This looks like the cover of a magazine!! Now the hard part- keeping it alive! It looks like it has plenty of light so it should thrive. Oh, and I love the poem. How funny!! Kristen

  22. When you posted the picture with the ficus yesterday...I said to myself "she isn't going to leave it there...no way" So I was not surprised that you found the perfect home for it. It works so well with the high ceilings. In the other room it was just a distraction from all the gorgeousness that surrounded it.

  28. Morning, Gollum! You're a poet, did you know it? Personally, I love your leaf dropping tree right there! You'll have little birdies trying to fly through the windows to make their nests here.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
